Brandon Marshall Has An Idea
Brandon Marshall’s not going to sit back next year if the NFL does lock the players out. He’s made it quite clear that he has a back up plan and it’s quite interesting. He’s anxious to get a try out with the NBA if the NFL does move forward with a lock out.
Marshall who spent several solid years in Denver, would like to return back home. His ideal situation would be to play for the Denver Nuggets, although he’s considering the Miami Heat as well. Well, the ideal situation would be for the NFL to work things out and not hold a lock out!
As a professional athlete, Brandon Marshall must have an idea of what he’s actually capable of on the basketball court. And he thinks he’s more than capable of holding his own as a shooting guard in the NBA. Although football is obviously his passion, he spent a lot of time playing basketball growing up and still watches the NBA on a regular basis.
He was recently signed to the Miami Dolphins after several great years in Denver. His contract is worth $47.5 million and that’s paid over only four years. Not too bad! If the NFL does go on lock out and Brandon does make the NBA, he won’t be making anything near this amount. So he’s obviously hoping to stick with football!
Brandon Marshall is talking about the NBA only if the NFL doesn’t work out. People have criticized him for these comments, but I admire him for this! He’s coming up with a back up plan instead of just sitting around waiting for the NFL. He’s already looking for a basketball coach to help him get prepared.
Marshall was a fan favorite in Denver for several years. He had some ups and downs, but he can easily win the fans back. He’s aware that he may have to deal with some boo’s at first if he does return to Denver to play basketball, but he’s also confident he will get a nice welcome home cheer.
Everyone in Miami is extremely shocked by this news. However, the Dolphins staff didn’t seem too concerned. In fact, the Miami Dolphins coach actually called him out on his lack in vertical and said there’s no way he’s making the NBA. That comment will probably make Brandon want to play even more! Brandon Marshall has set a goal and it doesn’t seem like he’s going to back down on this challenge if there’s a lock-out. If there isn’t a lock out, then he’ll continue to make his big money with the Dolphins.
Time will tell what happens with the NFL and this will help Brandon Marshall determine his future as well. As much as I’d love to see him in the NBA, it would be devastating if the NFL actually did turn to a lock out.
